Welcome
These Terms & Conditions form part of your Membership Agreement with Core24 Fitness (ABN 99 754 651 906).
They explain your rights and responsibilities as a member and our commitment to providing a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone.
By signing a Membership Agreement, completing an online membership registration, or otherwise joining Core24 Fitness, you acknowledge that you have been provided with access to these Terms & Conditions and agree to be bound by them.
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before joining.
1. Definitions
Unless the context indicates otherwise:
Access Device means the key fob, access card, mobile credential or any other method issued by Core24 Fitness to allow entry into the Club.
Club means Core24 Fitness.
Direct Debit Provider means the third-party payment provider engaged by Core24 Fitness to process recurring membership payments.
Member means the person who has entered into a Membership Agreement with Core24 Fitness.
Membership Agreement means the agreement between the Member and Core24 Fitness, including the Membership Application, these Terms & Conditions and any documents referred to within them.
Membership Fees means all fees and charges payable under the Membership Agreement, including membership fees, administration fees, setup fees and any other applicable charges.
Minimum Term means the minimum commitment period applicable to the Member’s selected membership.
Staffed Hours means the hours during which Core24 Fitness staff are rostered on site. Current Staffed Hours are published on our website and may change from time to time.
2. Membership Types
2.1 Direct Debit Memberships
Direct Debit Memberships are paid by recurring direct debit from the Member’s nominated bank account or credit card.
Unless otherwise stated, Direct Debit Memberships have a Minimum Term of six (6) months.
Following the expiry of the Minimum Term, Direct Debit Memberships continue on an ongoing basis until cancelled in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
2.2 No Lock-In Contract Memberships
No Lock-In Contract Memberships do not have a Minimum Term and may be cancelled at any time by providing at least twelve (12) days’ written notice before the next scheduled direct debit.
Membership Fees remain payable during the notice period.
2.3 Upfront Memberships
Core24 Fitness offers upfront paid memberships for selected membership periods.
The available membership options and prices are those advertised or agreed at the time of purchase.
Upfront Memberships are non-refundable once commenced except where required by law.
2.4 Holiday Memberships
Core24 Fitness may offer short-term Holiday Memberships from time to time.
Holiday Memberships are available for the period specified at the time of purchase and must be paid in full upfront.
Holiday Memberships automatically expire at the end of the purchased term and do not renew unless a new membership is purchased.
Holiday Memberships are non-refundable once commenced except where required by law.
Holiday Memberships are subject to these Terms & Conditions unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.
2.5 Youth Membership – Age 15 (Staffed Hours Only)
The Youth Membership – Age 15 (Staffed Hours Only) is available only to members who are 15 years of age.
To join this membership, the member must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian and complete the joining process during Staffed Hours with their parent or legal guardian present.
Access is restricted to Staffed Hours only.
While using the Club, the member must be accompanied and actively supervised at all times by a responsible adult who:
• is at least 18 years of age; and
• is a current financial member of Core24 Fitness.
The supervising member must remain within the Club and directly supervise the 15-year-old member for the entire duration of each visit.
These supervision requirements are a mandatory condition of membership and are in place to comply with Core24 Fitness’s insurance and risk management requirements.
If a 15-year-old member accesses or attempts to use the Club without the required supervision, or if the supervising adult does not meet the above requirements, Core24 Fitness may immediately suspend or terminate the membership without notice.
Once a member turns 16 years of age, they become eligible to transfer to the Youth Membership – Ages 16–17 (24/7 Access). Access conditions will not change until the membership has been updated by Core24 Fitness.
2.6 Youth Membership – Ages 16–17 (24/7 Access)
Members aged 16 or 17 years must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian before joining Core24 Fitness.
Members may access the Club 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in accordance with their membership and must comply with all Club rules, safety requirements and these Terms & Conditions.
Core24 Fitness reserves the right to refuse, suspend or cancel a Youth Membership where it reasonably believes it is necessary for the safety of the Member, other Members, staff or the Club.
3. Joining Core24 Fitness
To become a Member you must:
• complete the Membership Application;
• complete the required pre-exercise screening questionnaire;
• provide accurate personal and payment information;
• provide identification if reasonably requested;
• accept these Terms & Conditions; and
• satisfy any age requirements applicable to your membership.
Memberships commence on the agreed start date shown on your Membership Agreement.
Core24 Fitness reserves the right to decline an application for membership where it reasonably believes the application is inconsistent with the safe operation of the Club or these Terms & Conditions.
4. Club Orientation
All new Members are required to complete an initial orientation with a Core24 Fitness staff member.
The orientation is designed to familiarise Members with:
• Club access procedures;
• emergency procedures;
• Club etiquette;
• safe use of equipment; and
• general operation of the Club.
Members acknowledge that the orientation does not constitute personal training, fitness advice or medical advice and does not replace the need to exercise within their own capabilities.
5. Membership Fees & Payments
Members agree to pay all Membership Fees applicable to their chosen membership.
Membership Fees include the membership fee together with any applicable administration fees, setup fees or other charges disclosed at the time of joining.
For Direct Debit Memberships:
• payments will be processed by the nominated Direct Debit Provider;
• membership administration fees applicable to the selected payment frequency form part of the Membership Agreement;
• applicable fees will be disclosed before the Membership Agreement is entered into; and
• Core24 Fitness may vary administration fees from time to time by providing reasonable prior notice.
Members are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available on each scheduled debit date.
Where a direct debit payment is dishonoured, the Direct Debit Provider may charge a dishonour fee in accordance with the Member’s Direct Debit Authority.
Members must promptly notify Core24 Fitness of any changes to their payment details or contact information.
6. Club Access & Security
6.1 Club Access
Members are entitled to access the Club in accordance with their selected membership type and the applicable access conditions.
Access may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, repairs, cleaning, emergencies, security incidents, power outages or circumstances beyond the
reasonable control of Core24 Fitness. Wherever practicable, members will be notified in advance of any planned interruption to Club access.
6.2 Access Devices
Members are responsible for the security and proper use of their Access Device.
Members must not lend, transfer, share or allow any other person to use their Access Device.
If an Access Device is lost, stolen or damaged, the Member must notify Core24 Fitness as soon as reasonably practicable. A replacement fee will apply.
Core24 Fitness may deactivate an Access Device where:
• a membership is suspended or cancelled;
• Membership Fees are overdue;
• the Member breaches these Terms & Conditions; or
• Core24 Fitness reasonably believes it is necessary to protect the safety or security of the Club.
6.3 Unauthorised Access
Members must not permit any other person to enter the Club using their Access Device or otherwise provide unauthorised access to the Club.
This includes:
• allowing another person to enter behind you (“tailgating”);
• lending your Access Device to another person;
• allowing another person to use your membership; or
• opening the door for a person who has not lawfully gained entry.
Any person entering the Club must hold a valid membership or have been authorised by Core24 Fitness.
Where Core24 Fitness reasonably believes a Member has provided unauthorised access, we may:
• immediately suspend or cancel the membership;
• recover any reasonable costs arising from the breach; and/or
• refuse future membership applications.
These measures are necessary to protect the safety and security of our members, staff and the Club.
6.4 Trial Visits
Core24 Fitness may offer complimentary trial visits to prospective members at its discretion. Trial visits are generally available during Staffed Hours only and must be arranged through Club staff before entering the Club.
7. Member Code of Conduct
Core24 Fitness is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for all members, visitors and staff.
While using the Club, Members agree to:
• behave respectfully towards other members, visitors and staff;
• follow all reasonable directions given by Core24 Fitness staff;
• use equipment safely and for its intended purpose;
• return equipment to its proper location after use;
• wipe down equipment after use;
• wear appropriate exercise clothing and fully enclosed athletic footwear;
• use a sweat towel while training; and
• help maintain a clean and safe training environment.
Members must not:
• behave in a manner that is abusive, threatening, intimidating, aggressive or discriminatory;
• deliberately damage Club property or equipment;
• smoke, vape, consume alcohol or use illicit drugs within the Club;
• enter the Club while under the influence of alcohol, illicit drugs or medication that may make it unsafe to exercise;
• use the Club in a way that places themselves or others at unreasonable risk; or
• interfere with the enjoyment or safety of other members.
Core24 Fitness may suspend or terminate a membership where a Member seriously or repeatedly breaches this Code of Conduct.
7.1 Respect for Others
Core24 Fitness does not tolerate harassment, bullying, discrimination or intimidating behaviour.
Every member has the right to train in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.
Behaviour that negatively impacts the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of other members may result in suspension or termination of membership.
7.2 Young Members
Members aged 15 years may only use the Club under the conditions of the Youth Membership – Age 15 (Staffed Hours Only).
A member aged 15 years must be actively supervised at all times by a responsible adult who:
• is at least 18 years of age;
• is a current financial member of Core24 Fitness; and
• remains within the Club for the entire duration of the visit.
Failure to comply with these supervision requirements may result in the immediate suspension or cancellation of the Youth Membership.
Members aged 16 and 17 years may use the Club under the conditions of the Youth Membership – Ages 16–17 (24/7 Access) and must comply with all Club rules and safety requirements.
7.3 Photography & Mobile Phones
Members are welcome to use mobile phones for personal use, including recording their own workouts.
Members must respect the privacy of others and must not intentionally photograph or record another person without their consent.
Core24 Fitness may require any recording to cease where it reasonably believes it is impacting the privacy, comfort or safety of other members or staff.
8. Health & Safety
8.1 Member Responsibility
Members acknowledge that exercise carries inherent risks and participate in physical activity at their own risk.
Members are responsible for exercising within their own physical capabilities and should seek medical advice before commencing or continuing an exercise program if they have any concerns regarding their health or fitness.
Members agree to immediately stop exercising and seek appropriate medical attention if they experience pain, dizziness, faintness, chest pain or any other symptoms that may indicate a medical condition.
8.2 Health Information
Members confirm that the information provided during the joining process, including any pre-exercise screening questionnaire, is true and accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Members agree to notify Core24 Fitness if there is any significant change to their health that may affect their ability to safely use the Club.
8.3 Emergencies
Members must follow all emergency procedures and comply with any reasonable direction given by Core24 Fitness staff or emergency services personnel.
Members acknowledge that the Club operates as a 24-hour facility and that staff may not always be present.
8.4 Equipment
Members must use equipment only for its intended purpose and in accordance with any instructions provided.
Equipment must not be modified, misused or operated in an unsafe manner.
Members must report any damaged or faulty equipment to Core24 Fitness as soon as practicable.
Members must not continue using equipment they reasonably believe to be faulty or unsafe.
9. Membership Holds (Suspensions)
Core24 Fitness understands that circumstances sometimes require a temporary break from training.
Members may request to suspend their membership, subject to the following conditions:
• the minimum suspension period is one (1) week;
• the maximum suspension period is eight (8) weeks per calendar year;
• suspension requests must be submitted before the requested suspension start date;
• a suspension fee may apply; and
• Membership Fees will recommence automatically at the end of the approved suspension period.
Suspensions do not reduce the Minimum Term. Any remaining Minimum Term will continue once the suspension ends.
Core24 Fitness may approve additional suspension periods at its discretion in exceptional circumstances.
10. Cancelling Your Membership
10.1 Minimum Term Memberships
Members on a Membership Agreement with a Minimum Term may cancel their membership after the Minimum Term has been completed.
To cancel, Members must provide written notice using the cancellation process specified by Core24 Fitness.
The required notice period is twelve (12) days before the next scheduled direct debit.
Membership Fees remain payable during the notice period.
10.2 No Lock-In Contract Memberships
Members on a No Lock-In Contract Membership may cancel at any time by providing at least twelve (12) days’ written notice before the next scheduled direct debit. Membership Fees remain payable during the notice period.
10.3 Cancellation by Core24 Fitness
Core24 Fitness may suspend or terminate a membership immediately where a Member:
• seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms & Conditions;
• provides unauthorised access to the Club;
• behaves in a manner that places others at risk;
• deliberately damages Club property; or
• fails to pay Membership Fees after reasonable attempts have been made to resolve the outstanding payments.
Where appropriate, Core24 Fitness may provide the Member with an opportunity to remedy the breach before terminating the Membership Agreement.
10.4 Cooling-Off Period
New Members may cancel their Membership Agreement within forty-eight (48) hours of joining by providing written notice to Core24 Fitness.
Where the Member has accessed the Club or used any services during the cooling-off period, Core24 Fitness reserves the right to deduct the applicable casual access fee and/or service fees from any refund otherwise payable.
Any refund will otherwise be processed in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
11. Membership Fees
11.1 Fee Changes
Core24 Fitness may review Membership Fees from time to time.
Any increase to Membership Fees will not apply during a Member’s Minimum Term unless otherwise permitted by law or agreed with the Member.
Following the expiry of the Minimum Term, Membership Fees may be varied by providing at least fourteen (14) days’ prior written notice.
Members who do not wish to accept the increased Membership Fees may cancel their membership in accordance with these Terms & Conditions before the increase takes effect.
12. Personal Training & Coaching
Personal Training sessions conducted by Core24 Fitness or an authorised contractor are subject to separate booking arrangements and fees.
Members participating in Personal Training or coaching sessions agree to follow all reasonable instructions provided by the trainer and to immediately advise the trainer of any injury, illness or discomfort experienced during the session.
Core24 Fitness is not responsible for services provided by independent contractors except where required by law.
13. CCTV & Security
To promote the safety and security of members, staff and the Club, Core24 Fitness operates CCTV surveillance throughout the facility.
By entering the Club, members acknowledge that they may be recorded by CCTV.
CCTV footage may be accessed, reviewed or disclosed where reasonably necessary, including for:
• investigating incidents or suspected breaches of these Terms & Conditions;
• protecting the safety and security of members, staff and the Club;
• responding to complaints or insurance claims;
• assisting law enforcement agencies; or
• complying with legal obligations.
Members must not interfere with, damage or obstruct any security or surveillance equipment.
14. Privacy
Core24 Fitness collects, stores and uses personal information for the purposes of administering memberships, processing payments, communicating with members, providing services and complying with legal obligations.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Core24 Fitness Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
Members agree to notify Core24 Fitness if their contact details change.
Core24 Fitness may communicate with members by email, SMS, telephone or other electronic means regarding their membership, payments, operational updates and other information relating to the services provided.
Members may opt out of marketing communications at any time; however, operational communications relating to their membership will continue where reasonably necessary.
15. Lost Property
Members are responsible for their personal belongings while using the Club.
Storage cubicles are provided as a convenience only and do not create a bailment or impose responsibility on Core24 Fitness for items stored within them.
Core24 Fitness accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property except where required by law.
Lost property may be donated to charity, disposed of, or otherwise dealt with by Core24 Fitness if not collected within a reasonable period.
16. Temporary Closure & Equipment Availability
Core24 Fitness will use reasonable efforts to keep the Club available for members.
From time to time, access to all or part of the Club may be restricted due to maintenance, repairs, equipment replacement, cleaning, emergencies, security incidents, public health requirements or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Temporary interruptions to Club access or equipment availability do not automatically entitle members to a refund, suspension, extension of membership or compensation, except where required by law.
17. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation.
Subject to those rights, Members acknowledge that participation in physical exercise and the use of gym equipment involves inherent risks, including the risk of personal injury.
Members participate in all activities at their own risk and agree to exercise within their own capabilities.
To the extent permitted by law, Core24 Fitness is not liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from:
• the Member’s failure to follow instructions or use equipment safely;
• the Member’s medical condition or failure to seek appropriate medical advice;
• loss, theft or damage to personal property;
•temporary interruptions to Club access; or
• circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Core24 Fitness.
Nothing in this clause limits Core24 Fitness’s liability where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. General Terms
18.1 Changes to these Terms & Conditions
Core24 Fitness may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time where reasonably necessary to reflect changes in legislation, operational requirements or business practices.
Members will be given reasonable notice of any material changes.
The current version of these Terms & Conditions will always be available on the Core24 Fitness website.
18.2 Electronic Communications
Members consent to receiving notices and communications relating to their membership electronically, including by email or SMS, unless otherwise required by law. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure their contact details remain current.
18.3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18.4 Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
Any dispute arising in connection with the Membership Agreement will be determined in accordance with the laws of Western Australia.
18.5 Entire Agreement
These Terms & Conditions, together with the Membership Agreement and any documents expressly referred to within them, constitute the entire agreement between the Member and Core24 Fitness.
